We, MayStudios, located in Burscheid, Germany (also referred to as “MayStudios” or “us”) are responsible for the control and processing of your data.

Data about our Players

When you play Mr. Dork 3 or participate in our alpha testing, we collect specific data to provide and improve our services. This may include your gameplay data, system specifications, interactions within the game, feedback, and any reported issues.

Data about Pledges

When you pledge support for the game, we collect necessary information to facilitate and track your contribution. This information can include your full name, contact information, payment details, and the details of your pledge. We use this data to process your pledge, provide updates, and facilitate any rewards tied to your support.

Data about Alpha Registrants

When you register for our alpha testing, we collect data such as your name, email, and possibly hardware specifications to evaluate your eligibility and facilitate your participation. We use this data to communicate with you about the alpha testing process, your role, and any updates related to it.

Data on Bug Reports

As a player, when you submit bug reports through our in-game system, we gather information related to the bug, your account, and your system settings. This data helps us understand the issues better, fix them promptly, and improve the overall gaming experience.

Data on Website Visitors

Our hosting provider, GitHub Pages, processes technically necessary connection data to deliver and secure this website. If you consent to statistics, Google Analytics 4 also processes page views, approximate location, device/browser information, referrer, session identifiers, and timestamps. We do not send names, email addresses, User IDs, or other information entered into forms to Google Analytics.

We use Google Analytics 4 solely to understand how many people visit our pages. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. The legal basis is your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and, where information is stored on or accessed from your device, Section 25(1) TDDDG.

Google Analytics is implemented in Basic Consent Mode: the Google tag is not downloaded and no request is sent to Google before you actively allow statistics. Google Signals, advertising personalization, ad storage, user-provided data, and enhanced measurement events are disabled. Google states that IP addresses from EU users are discarded before they are logged; approximate location may still be derived during collection.

Google may process data outside the European Economic Area. Google relies, where applicable, on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and/or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. You can withdraw your consent at any time through the Privacy Settings in the footer. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

3. Recipients of personal data

We do not share or sell your personal data with third parties for advertising purposes. Website data may be processed by GitHub as our hosting provider and, only after your consent, by Google Ireland Limited and its processors for Analytics.

4. Cookies

The website works without Analytics. We use browser local storage to remember your language, music preference and privacy choice; these necessary settings stay on your device. The privacy choice is requested again after 180 days.

  • mrdork_consent (local storage): stores consent version, choice, and timestamp for up to 180 days.
  • mrdork_lang (local storage): stores your language preference until you remove it in your browser.
  • mrdork_music_enabled (local storage): stores whether you want the background music to play until you remove it in your browser.
  • _ga and _ga_<container-id>: first-party Analytics cookies used to distinguish browsers and retain session state. They are created only after your opt-in and configured to expire after 90 days without renewal.

5. Data Retention Period

Google Analytics user-level and event-level data is configured for deletion after two months, without resetting that period when a user becomes active again. This setting does not affect Google's standard aggregated reports. Analytics cookies expire after 90 days and are actively removed where technically possible when you withdraw consent. Other personal data is kept only as long as necessary for the respective purpose and applicable legal obligations.

6. Your Rights

As a user, you have a number of rights regarding your personal data:
